Just Perfect

Really helpful and positive staff. A very cute and well looked after place with character and plenty of useful amenities. The kitchen is fab although I didn’t really need much for one night. It’s so good to be close to the bus stop for the airport and also be a stones throw from the park and botanic gardens.

Cosy Hostel

This hostel has a nice homely feel to it. I felt really at ease there as a female solo traveler. It was a big plus for me that I could get a shared room without bunk beds. The staff was really friendly. The kitchen and bathrooms are not the cleanest I have ever seen - but then again: it is a hostel with many people coming and going. It is a bit of a walk to the nearest super market and the bus station. I am glad one of the staff members advised me beforehand to take a bus when I had all of my luggage with me.

So friendly and clean

Fabulous staff. Surprisingly clean for a backpackers. I rented a DVD for free, and I washed my clothes and hung them on the line.

I was tramping throughout the South Island -- perfect for me. Oh, and they let me store my gear with them for a few nights.
